what we do?

FOOD DONATIONS 2024

Supporting Displaced Families Amid Lebanese Israeli War

Since October 2023, clashes along Lebanon’s southern borders have triggered a humanitarian crisis. The violence has damaged infrastructure, disrupted essential services, and forced many people to flee their homes by October 2024. Displaced families across the country have been left struggling to access food, shelter, and medical care.
Amid these mounting challenges, CG Fund prioritized urgent support for internally displaced persons (IDPs) across Lebanon. Through our food distribution program, we partnered with local organizations to identify and assist vulnerable Lebanese IDP communities suffering from severe food insecurity.
CG Fund delivered essential food supplies to families in need, helping them survive these extremely difficult times. This effort reflects our ongoing mission to respond quickly and effectively to humanitarian emergencies and stand in solidarity with those most affected.

CG FUND HUMANITARIAN EFFORTS

These efforts were a precursor to the formation of CG Fund as a registered Lebanese NGO.

Solar Loan Program

With over 300 days of sunshine, solar power is a natural, sustainable solution. CG Fund came up with a creative way to help schools and institutions make the transition from reliance on diesel powered generators to solar power by offering interest free loans of up to 50% of the cost of the materials and installation. Using funds previously budgeted for diesel, schools and institutions can pay back the loan within about two years

Medical and COVID Relief

CG Fund made donations of medical materials and medicine in short supply in Lebanon due to the economic crisis as well as funded a surgery for a patient with insufficient funds.

Salary Supplements

To alleviate the loss of disposable income for teachers and staff at schools and NGOs, CG Fund contributed to supplementing their salaries.

Local NGO Support

By making general donations and covering the expenses of generator maintenance and purchases of generators at a discount so local NGOs can operate during the chronic power outages, CG Fund helped them continue their vital missions

Education Support

CG Fund made tuition payments for students unable to afford going to school, bought tablets to help with distance learning, and contributed towards training 41 Teach for Lebanon Fellows.

Food Distribution

CG Fund donated funds so that local NGOs could purchase food that they distribute to those in need.

Jeyetna Festival Support

CG Fund helped raise awareness of period poverty by funding the catering and generator rental for the Jeyetna Festival.
